Sports Update
Athletics Carnival
The Athletics Carnival was a great success last week and could not have been possible without the dedicated support of the staff and parents of St Mary's, as well as our wonderful House Captains, who led from the front all day; thank you to all. A special shoutout to Ms Cooke, who despite being on maternity leave, still puts in countless hours to ensure the day runs as smoothly and successfully as possible.
We are busy tallying up the results and hope to present the winning house at this week's assembly, as well as announcing the champion athletes for each age level. Stay tuned...
Winter Interschool Sports
On Friday 13th June, our St Mary's Mixed/Boys Netball team competed at Newport Gardens Primary School in the Interschool Sport District Finals. It was a thrilling match, with the team unfortunately going down 11-10. Despite the disappointment amongst them, they should be recognised for a fantastic season. Onwards and upwards for next year, with a lot to look forward to.
Cross Country
A huge shout out to William Trethowan who competed last week at the Western Metropolitan Regional Cross Country Championships. Within a highly competitive field, William came 10th to advance to the State Cross Country Finals next month. Congratulations to William, who we know has been hard at work training; your perseverance and dedication keeps paying off. We wish you all the best for next month's race.
